Break-even ROAS calculator
Ads break even when the contribution from an order, before ad spend, equals what you spent to win it. This calculator works out that contribution from your order costs and turns it into a break-even ROAS and a ceiling for CAC.

How it is calculated
- Net revenue = order value ÷ (1 + GST rate)
- Contribution before ads (CM2) = net revenue − product cost − packaging − shipping − payment fees − expected RTO cost
- Break-even ROAS = order value your ad platform reports ÷ CM2
- Highest CAC the first order can pay for = CM2
Reading the result
- Use the revenue figure your ad platform reports, which usually includes GST, so the ROAS matches what you see there.
- Break-even is not profit. Aim for a ROAS above it, and check CM3 in the contribution margin calculator.
- Spend above the CAC ceiling only if your own cohort data shows repeat revenue.
